Shabbat
Friday night is the time our students celebrate Shabbat. Student led services, both Reform and Conservative, are held in the Interfaith Chapel each Shabbat, followed by free Shabbat dinners, prepared by students in the Hillel Kosher Kitchen in the Chapel. Following dinner, students often show their ruach (spirit) through lively renditions of favorite Hebrew songs. Shabbat morning services are usually held twice a semester.
SHABBAT ACROSS CAMPUS

Shabbat across campus is becoming an annual event held in November,
for students to prepare and host Shabbat dinners for their friends.
In addition to support in planning your the Shabbat Across
Campus program, Hillel provides a small stipend to help subsidize each dinner for up to 10 students.
This money can be used to purchase any necessary groceries or supplies
you will need. Funding cannot be used to
purchase any wine or alcohol for the event.
Students may prepare traditional shabbat dinners, vegetarian dinners,
or family favorites from home. Students do the shopping, cooking and
hosting. Hillel provides challah and grape juice.
